For Crafts, Scrapbooking and Hobby Information

I just bought a house and will also continue my family tradition of doing woodworking (as a hobby), so I need a V8 truck or SUV to be able to haul wood and other do it yourself things around. I’m debating between the American full sized pick ups and SUVs (I won’t be driving this thing everyday), and it will be a few years old (don’t have a ton of money), but which do you think is better and will be more useful as well as practical, I’m tempted to get the Chevrolet Avalanche, but then I think about the Dodge Ram 1500, or could I get the most use out of a Ford Expedition, help me out here, thanks.

Go with the pickup. It will be easier to haul yard waste, and land scape materials. Also it is a lot easier to load a 4X8 sheet of plywood.

  3. my dad is looking at getting either a ford f150 or a dodge ram if you live in pa i would consider going to this dealer. he has one of the best lots in pa. it all depends how much wood do you get. my dad has looked around and found out that 4.7 in the rams get worse mileage than the 5.7 hemi and the same with the ford 4.6 and 5.4. my dad now has a 04 jeep grand cherokee and when you are in the process of finishing a basement it gets hard to put alot of 2×4’s and yesterday we went for wood pellets for our pellet stove 35bags 1/2 a ton i think you will be much happier with a truck

  4. I’d go with a pick up over a SUV. Just because you said you would only use it to haul wood.

Get an SUV, next thing you know your wife wants to drive it.
